As most of you know, this week I’ve been performing a comprehensive environmental, health and safety (EH&S) audit. For any of you that have done this before you know it can be tough. Lots of long days, interviewing people, asking tough questions, and always being a critical thinker. As the Principle Consultant/Founder/CEO of Affygility Solutions, I leave EH&S auditing up to myself and no one else. It is a very important project for the clients so I don’t risk delegating the responsibility to lesser experience personnel. In the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device industry, auditors are expected to know and understand a lot of information. This information can include: air, potent compound safety or hazardous drug safety, hazardous wastes, occupational safety, emergency planning and response, occupational toxicology, industrial hygiene, fire codes, waste water, and much more. EH&S auditing is tough stuff. The best book of Environmental, Health and Safety Audits that I’ve ever seen was written by Lawrence B. Cahill. Click on the above link to buy it..
Got to go. It’s late and I have a closing conference to prepare for tomorrow. Please comment.
